Participants of all abilities are invited to walk, run or a little of both. Hey, as long as you're out there having fun and challenging yourself, we don't care if you're setting a new world record or crawling across the finish line!
The Earth Day Challenge is a fully staffed and supported event with security, medical and aid stations. While you're pushing your body, we'll be treating it right; the aid stations and post-race spread will be chock full of nutritious and delicious foods and beverages.
Not quite up for 13.1 miles? No problem!
For the first time this year you can run either the half marathon or a four-mile race. Both races will wind through historic Gambier. Four milers will then finish on the track and the half marathoners will head out onto the unforgettable Kokosing Gap trail.
All our proceeds benefit local outdoor fitness initiatives, such as trail runs, cycling events, and children's programs.

After the race runners will be treated to a post-post race spread inside the Kenyon Athletic Center. Race Details
The Earth Day Challenge Half Marathon and the Earth Day Challenge 4 Miler will start and end at the Kenyon Athletic Center on the campus of Kenyon College. Participants will complete a 4‑mile loop through historic Gambier with a portion run on Kenyon's tree-lined Middle Path. Upon completing the Gambier Loop, 4 Miler runners and walkers will finish on the track and the Half Marathoners will head out onto the Kokosing Gap Trail for a beautiful and flat out-and-back before returning to finish on the track.
The course is mostly flat, with one hill at about ½ mile. Gambier is a great location for spectators, with good viewing throughout the village. It is only a short walk from downtown Gambier to the finish line!
The Kokosing Gap Trail is a wonderfully maintained corridor which affords some truly amazing views of the Kokosing State Scenic River and the Knox County countryside.
