No need to train for 13.1 miles by yourself .... join Mini MIT and train with hundreds of other runners and walkers!

Summer 2009 MIT will kick off on Saturday, May 23!

 

You've always wanted to run or walk a half marathon, but didn't know where to start?  Here's a program that will teach you about running/walking in cool/cold weather, nutrition, goal setting, how to avoid injury, pacing, and much more.

  • This program will allow you to run comfortably without spending a great deal of time training or recovering!
  • This approx 4 month training program is designed to prepare you for your first 1/2 marathon - the proper way!  You will be given a training plan to follow that will get you to the finish line healthy and happy!
  • Our goal is to motivate, inform, and get you addicted to running/walking!
  • Though many of our participants will have run before, the program is designed to accommodate all skill levels!
  • So let’s go!  Join us this season and begin the journey to your first (or next) 1/2 marathon!

The next no-obligation Information Sessions are:

1. Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at 7:00pm.

Location: Max Sports Center, 3705 Olentangy River Rd, Columbus

2. Saturday, May 23, 20098, 7:30am. 

Location: Thomas Worthington High School. on St. Rt. 161, just east of 315 (address: 300 W. Granville Rd, Worthington, 43085) (This session will be followed by the first workout, beginning at 8:30am, same location)

 

First Group Workout: So come check it out, and if it looks like the program will be helpful for you, join us for our first workout on Saturday, May 23. The workout begins at 8:00am, at Thomas Worthington High School (address above)

History of MIT

  • Program began in 2000, with 90 participants and 4 coaches
  • Approx. 2,500 runners and walkers have participated since 2000
  • Summer 2008 program had approx. 525 participants  - of all ability levels. Everyone fits in with MIT!
