Event Information

On September 13th join us as we host the eighth annual A&F Challenge at our campus in New Albany. The Challenge consists of a 5K Run/Walk or a 20-Mile Bike Tour.

Enjoy live entertainment, great food, and beverages after the events!

The Beneficiary

All funds raised through the 2008 A&F Challenge will support the Ohio State University Medical Center's Program for Health. The Program for Health consists of a partnership with both the Ohio State University Health System and The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. The Program for Health focuses on women's cancers and the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease.

Registration Information

Registration fee: $30 for pre-registration, $35 on race day

Entrants can register on location on event day from 7:30am-9:30am for a $35 event day registration fee.  Make checks payable to:  A&F Challenge Fund. 

Registration will be open 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Registrants participating in an event should be aware of race start times and allow themselves at least 30 minutes to register.

THOSE WHO PRE-REGISTERED MUST PRINT OUT THE ONLINE VERIFICATION PAGE AND TURN IT IN WHEN THEY PICK UP THEIR PACKET.

Pre-registered packet pick-up

Race packets will be available for pre-registered guests at the A&F campus during the following hours:

  • Thursday, September 11
    • 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Friday, September 12
    • 7:30 a.m. – noon
    • 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Packet pick-up directions

  • Exit OH-161 at US-62 North
  • Take US-62 North to Smith’s Mill Road and turn right onto Smith’s Mill Road
  • Continue straight on Smith’s Mill Road through 4-way stop at Kitzmiller Road
  • Turn left onto Fitch Path (first road after Kitzmiller Road)
  • Follow the A&F Challenge signs to packet pick-up

Race-Day Details: Time & Format

Event will go on rain or shine. Event staging will begin 20 minutes prior to start of each event. Races start promptly at designated times.

  • 7:30 a.m. Race-day registration opens
  • Registrants participating in an event should be aware of race start times and allow themselves at least 30 minutes to register
  • Registration for post-event festivities only open until 11:00 a.m.
  • NO ONE PERMITTED TO ENTER AFTER 11:00 A.M.
  • 9:45 a.m. 20 Mile Cycling Tour start (helmet required, must be 18)
  • 10:00 a.m. 5K Run start
  • 11:00 a.m. Post-event festivities:
  • Picnic-style food
  • Beverages to be served include water, soda and keg beer (ID required)
  • Live entertainment and short ceremony
  • Event wraps up at approximately 1:00 p.m.

All events will take place at Abercrombie & Fitch Campus 6301 Fitch Path New Albany, Ohio

Special Instructions

Helmets are required for cycling tour. Proper ID is required to consume alcoholic refreshments. Participants ages 12 and under are free and must be accompanied by an adult. Lockers will not be provided; please plan accordingly and do not leave personal belongings unattended. No pets.
