About Earth Day Challenge
April 22, 2012
What better way to celebrate Earth Day than with your feet? You'll run 26.2 miles, traversing historic Gambier and some of Ohio's most scenic countryside on the expertly-maintained Kokosing Gap Trail.
Participants of all abilities are invited
to walk, run or a little of both. Hey, as long as you're out there having fun
and challenging yourself, we don't care if you're setting a new world record or
crawling across the finish line!
The 2012 course is again USATF certified so if you're hunting for that Boston Qualifier, look no further for a flat, fast race!
Not quite up for 26.2 miles? No problem!
Can't sell you on the full marathon? You're not in the clear yet! Sign up for the third annual Earth Day Challenge half-marathon!
All our proceeds benefit local outdoor fitness initiatives, such as trail runs, cycling events, and children's programs.
Post race activities
After the race, runners, families and friends are invited to the 6th Annual Earth Day Health Expo from 11:00 – 3:00pm inside the Kenyon Athletic Center. Local environmental and health organizations will host this FREE event featuring how we can keep ourselves and our world healthy – goals that go hand-in-hand! This year’s theme is “Get Out!” - emphasizing the importance of being active outside and connecting with nature.
Features will include a farmer’s market and petting zoo, kid’s activity zone, live music, vendors and exhibitors of green and healthy products and resources, door prizes, concessions, and more.
