Quick facts
Tyler Burchett Homerun 5kOn July 26th, 2011, a young boy named Tyler Burchett was at home playing video games as usual when he was suddenly stricken with a devastating, debilitating rare illness called Myelitis. In under and hour he went from being a healthy, athletic, energetic ten year old who loved sports and excelled at playing baseball to being stuck in a wheelchair unable to even scratch his own nose without any known cause and an unsure prognosis. This devastating event has left his family struggling to get by, unsure of how they will afford his care and medical bills or take him home to their split-level 2 story house in Grove City, Ohio. We are hosting this 5k in hopes of raising funds for this family to help them pay for his medical care and hopefully make some modifications to his home for when he is released from the hospital. Please join us in helping this hard-working family get through such a devastating time in their lives. We may not be a big organization raising funds for a large group of people, but sometimes it’s just as great to help one family as it is to help a large group. So come and help us help someone and have a little fun run (or walk) in the process!
